01 — Idea
A room open
to the sky.
The project begins with a shaded courtyard at its centre. Every important room touches it, turning circulation into a sequence of changing light, planted edges and framed views.
Heavy walls hold the heat outside. Deep thresholds and operable screens let daily life move between interior and garden without a hard boundary.
Material
Stone, lime and timber
A restrained palette chosen to age with use rather than fight it.

Shade before glass
Deep reveals and cross ventilation reduce solar gain throughout the day.
